Breathe correctly when snorkeling - the breathing technique
If you’ve read our article on how to snorkel properly, you know that learning this water sport is no magic trick. With the right breathing technique, snorkeling becomes even more fun, and the fear of not getting enough air disappears.
The correct breathing technique for snorkeling:
Breathe calmly and evenly through the snorkel. If you’re using our Seaview 180°, you can breathe naturally through the full-face mask without the hassle of a snorkel in your mouth. Even when exerting yourself, calm breathing is essential!
Once you learn how to control your breathing properly and inhale and exhale regularly, nothing will stand in the way of your enjoyable snorkeling experience. That’s why you should never focus too much on your breathing.
Always knowing that you can surface at any time is also incredibly reassuring and helps you stay calm.
AIR RESERVE BEFORE DIVING
Always remember that your snorkel can fill with water when you dive underwater. Always plan in an air reserve so you can clear the snorkel with a strong exhale.
Never dive so long that you completely run out of air. This ensures you have enough reserve and enables a smooth snorkeling experience without oxygen shortage.
