Comparison of Seaview Pro to Seaview Y

The Seaview Pro is our best snorkel mask. Both the Pro and Y offer the same high quality and excellent fit. The Pro features a different airflow and has absolutely no breathing resistance. The Y has a minimal breathing resistance, which is hardly noticeable. In the Pro, the air is directed out at the top of the snorkel. In the Y, it is directed out at the ears. A few customers report feeling slightly impacted by this.

Why is CO₂ safety so important in snorkel masks?

In full-face masks without separate air channels, exhaled CO₂-rich air can be inhaled again. This can lead to dizziness, headaches, or in extreme cases, unconsciousness. The Seaview Pro is therefore designed with separate breathing channels and safety valves and has been tested in an independent laboratory according to DIN EN 136:1998. This standard is part of the EU harmonized standards for personal protective equipment.

Is there a mount for an action camera?

Yes, an action camera mount is included and is compatible with all popular models such as GoPro, DJI, Insta360, and similar cameras.

What do I need to do before using it for the first time?

The mask comes ready to use. Adjust the strap to fit you. Please do not tamper with or remove the valves, as they are essential for the mask’s safe CO₂ function.

Is the snorkeling mask suitable for people with beards?

To a certain extent. A 3-day stubble is generally not a problem. Once the beard reaches about 5 days’ length, it should be trimmed in the area around the seal. Anything longer than that can compromise the seal, as the silicone frame can no longer form a complete seal.

Which size should I choose if I'm between S/M and L/XL?

The key factor is your face shape. If your face is round or full, choose L/XL. If you have a slim or narrow face, choose S/M. Height serves as a guide: S/M up to 1.69 meters, L/XL 1.70 meters and taller.

Can I dive while wearing a mask?

Yes, this is no problem at depths of up to about 3 meters. The snorkel closes automatically as soon as it goes underwater, preventing water from entering. For greater depths, you need to equalize pressure through your nose, which isn’t possible with this mask. If you want to dive deeper, we recommend the Seaview Pro Plus with pressure equalization.
